Applying Default Settings with keeping customized settings #SymbolsPanel

"Oh, Updated defaults AGAIN? I have to customize again. It's tedious..."

Yes, I think so... Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you have not customized the settings, you can not recognize the problem maybe. So, this article is not helpful for you.

Since 0.9b, SymbolsPanel can MERGE settings at "Paste settings" from the clipboard. This will add new settings only not defined in the current settings.

To do so, edit the setting text. It will only add a single line of text. At the second line of text, please add the line:
#!merge
By this, the settings will be applied to merge into the current settings.

Detailed steps are as follows:
  1. Get text of the default settings (published on this site)
  2. Insert "#!merge" line into second line of the text
  3. Copy whole of the text to the clipboard
  4. "Past settings" at SymbolsPanel
Or:
  1. "Send setings" at SymbolsPanel to where you want (mailer, editor, etc.)
  2. Insert "#!merge" line into second line of sent text
  3. Copy whole of the text to the clipboard
  4. "Load default" at SymbolsPanel
  5. "Past settings"
The merging process is only to add settings not defined in the current settings into the last. If you want more, you can edit settings yourself.
