In SymbolsPanel, symbol's descriptions are displayed on the bottom of panel. This description texts are published in The Unicode Consortium. Also TextScope uses it, but the text resources are stored in each package individually. To share them, Unicode Name Database was developped.
The file of database is too large (5.3MB) to package, so the file must be downloaded from the net. Selecting "Download" in the preference starts a web browser to show download page.
